City of Alma - Departments
Administration includes general government oversight and
management functions. This section includes the City Manager, City
Treasurer, Engineering, City Assessor and other related function. In this
section, budget information can be found.
Cultural Services provides educational and enrichment services
for the community. For the City of Alma, these services include the
Alma Public Library and Public Access Television Channel 3.
Economic Development includes all functions dedicated to the
economic improvement of the community. Services in this area
include: Economic Development, the Alma Downtown Development
Authority, Zoning, Inspection Services, and Housing Rehabilitation.
Environmental Services are City efforts and responsibilities to
ensure that the community's environment is maintained in a clean and
safe method. These services include the Water Department,
Wastewater, Solid Waste and Recycling.
Legislative services provide the governing oversight of the City
Operations. This activity includes the City Commission, City Clerk,
and Elections.
Parks and Properties maintain all City owned property. Areas in
this activity include: Parks, Cemetery, State Street Plaza, and the
Alma Housing Commission.
Public Safety includes Police and Fire Services.
Transportation provides transportation services within the City
and connections to intermodal transportation services outside the
City. Activities within this area include: Dial-A-Ride bus service,
street maintenance and construction, sidewalks, and the Gratiot
Community Airport.
