Juvenile/Young Adult Services Librarian

Full-time; evenings, weekends. Plans, arranges, and performs all Juvenile/Young Adult programming for the Alma Public Library. Implements the acquisitions of materials and works with  the technical services department. Bachelor degree required. Minimum two year’s library experience. Ability to work well with Juvenile/Young Adult patrons. Experience with ILS software. Starting wage $17.30 per hour. Applications are available at the Alma Municipal Building, 525 E. Transportation Services Director



The City of Alma is currently recruiting for a Transportation Services Director.

This position is under the general supervision of the City Manager, the Transportation Services Director oversees all activities of the Transportation Department, including but not limited to: Preparing balanced annual budget; Apply for annual State and Federal funding; Provide oversight to a staff comprised of full and part-time employees; Represents the Transportation Department in various activities and meetings, including public speaking.

Election Inspector

A precinct Election Inspector for the City of Alma shall be a qualified and registered elector of Gratiot County, shall have a good reputation, and shall have sufficient education and clerical ability to perform the duties of the office. A person must file an application in his own handwriting to the City Clerk. Apply to be an election inspector by submitting an Election Inspector Application to the City Clerk. The City uses the E-Pollbook. Applicants should be computer literate. The hours are the full day of the first Tuesday after the first Monday in May, August and November of even years. An Election Inspector must be certified every two years in order to work an election. The wage for this position is $10.00 per hour, training will be required.
