Offenders on the SOR should report to
their local police departments for any reporting requirements. Office closings
and restricted hours of local agencies do not excuse the offender from
registration requirements or time limits for updates/modifications. If
necessary, offenders may also report to any Michigan State Police post to
report changes or for their regularly scheduled address verifications.
For address verifications, a person
required to register as a Sex Offender must bring a current State-issued photo
ID, with their current address listed, to the front desk of the Alma Police
Department. If the address listed on the ID is not the person's current
address, he or she must have it updated by the appropriate agency before
presenting it to the APD. The process of transferring an address does not
excuse the offender from registering at the time required.
