bills will now come out the first of the month and be due by the 20th
of each month. In the event the 20th
falls on a weekend or holiday, bills are due the next business day. Bills may be paid in person at the municipal
building by check, cash or credit card. There
is also a drop box in front of the municipal building. Online payments are also
accepted through the city website (www.ci.alma.mi.us). You may have your utility bill automatically drafted from your checking or savings account. No more missed due dates and penalties. The bank draft program allows you to have utility bills (water, sewer, and solid waste) automatically deducted from bank account. Just complete the form and return to our office.
Delinquent payment letters are sent out if your account is
45 days past due making notification that water service will be shut off at 60
days if not paid. IF YOU ARE CURRENTLY 45
DAYS PAST DUE, WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO COME TO THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING AND
REQUEST TO FILE AN EXTENSION FOR TIME TO PAY UTILITIES. If you have any questions,
please call the municipal building at 463-8346.
