Voter Information

 

If you would like to be placed on the permanent absentee voter list, please contact the City Clerk's office. Please note: No ballots are sent automatically; however, members of the permanent absentee list will be sent an application for a ballot that must be returned prior to each election you wish to participate in.

For those not on the permanent list, Absentee Ballot Applications are generally made available 6 weeks prior to an election. Applications are due to the City Clerk no later than 4 p.m. on Monday, previous to the Tuesday election. On the Saturday,before the Tuesday election, the City Clerk's Office will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to accept absentee ballot applications for voters applying or returning ballots that day. On Monday before Election Day absentee voters requesting a ballot must vote the ballot in the City Clerk's Office if they are unable to make it physically to the polls on Tuesday's Election Day.

Voters must be registered to vote in the State of Michigan no later than 30 days prior to an election.
